Methods and apparatus for manufacturing a computer without assembly

In an illustrative implementation of this invention, a mechanical computer is manufactured without a separate step of assembly. This is achieved by producing parts in a three dimensional pattern (in relation to each other) such that, when this manufacturing is completed, the components are already assembled to form a computer or part of a computer. The second step of assembling the parts into a desired three dimensional pattern is avoided, because the parts, when made, are already arranged in that 3D pattern.

Computer stand

The computer stand (1) comprises a screen support (2) for fastening an electronic monitor (3), and a keyboard support (14) for fastening a keyboard (16). The height of the screen support and the keyboard support is adjustable. Two mounting supports (8, 9) are joined respectively at opposite connecting points with the screen support and the keyboard support. The mounting supports are joined at least indirectly with a protective computer casing (30) for recording an electronic computer.

Computer keyboard displaying many operating instructions with few keys

The number of keys on a keyboard are reduced by employing the decimal point key as a control key when stroked the second time in the entry of a decimal number word. This eliminates the need for a key standard in the computer arts which is either designated as an "enter" key or as an "=" key depending upon the computer arithmetic process. It thereby becomes possible to use only twelve keys on a keyboard to control a modern computer with the order of 133 built-in programs or execution commands. This is done by providing in addition to ten decimal keys 0 to 9 and the decimal point key one additional control or execute key which initiates a two or more sequential key program step select mode in which any of the twelve keys are then stroked to designate a particular execution command. An accompanying graphic display of the various execution choices available makes the keyboard usable without necessity of frequent consultation of an instruction manual.

Logic controlled plastic molding machine with programmable operator

A plastics molding machine is provided with a control architecture which includes a dedicated programmed logic controller, a real time analog signal processor, an operator interface station, and a general purpose open architecture digital computer. The computer accepts data entered by an operator from a keyboard on the operator station panel, displays information to the operator, performs analysis of process monitoring and control data, and generates commands to the controller. The controller simultaneously controls the real time digital and analog functions of the machine. The analog functions are controlled in response to analog signals from the controller by performing real time closed loop servo control of analog and other machine functions.

Method and system for conducting high speed, symmetric stream cipher encryption

A method is provided for processing a digital information set having a plurality of information bytes. The method comprises receiving the information set, determining a set of initialization parameters, initializing a set of state variables using the set of initialization parameters, and generating a plurality of cryptors, each cryptor being a virtual dynamic array containing a monoalphabetic cipher. The method further comprises modifying the state variables and one or more of the cryptors, setting the index value for each cryptor in the plurality of cryptors; and selecting an ordered cryptor subset to be applied to an information byte. The information byte is processed using the ordered cryptor subset to produce a processed information byte. If the information byte is a plaintext byte, the processed byte is an encrypted byte, and vice versa. The actions of modifying, setting, selecting, and processing are then repeated for each remaining information byte.

The peripheral device notifies the computer that the peripheral device contains a built-in device driver that can be communicated to the computing device. The peripheral device communicates the device driver to the computing device in response to a request from the computing device to transmit the device driver. The peripheral device may periodically update its built-in device driver by downloading an updated device driver from a server or other device.
