Powdered polymer composition for a superhydrophobic coating and method for producing a superhydrophobic coating
The invention relates to the field of chemistry, and more particularly to a powdered polymer composition for a superhydrophobic coating and a method for producing such a coating. The composition contains a base in the form of a powdered thermosetting composition with an epoxy polyester, epoxy, polyester or polyurethane film-forming agent, and additionally contains a modifier in the form of hydrophobic particles of a surface-modifying and texturing component with particle sizes from 5 nm to 35 ?m, in the following ratio: 95-99.5 wt% base; 0.5-5 wt% modifier. The method for producing a coating involves applying the above-mentioned composition to a surface and curing the applied coating by heating at a temperature of 180-190? for 15-20 minutes. If necessary, a second layer containing micro- and nano-sized hydrophobic particles is applied to the uncured layer of composition. The invention provides a superhydrophobic coating with improved reliability and durability.

Method for introducing superhydrophobic articles into the human body
An article to be inserted into the human body has a superhydrophobic surface. The superhydrophobic surface is coated with a water soluble thin but durable protective coat. One positioned inside the body the coating is rapidly dissolved by the blood or other fluids and exposes the superhydrophobic surface. To coat article the water based coating is mixed with a liquid capable of wetting the superhydrophobic surface but is still dissolvable or at least miscible in the coating. As an example, a glucose or sucrose solution in water is mixed with alcohol and used to coat the surface. After water and alcohol evaporation, a durable protective coat of sugar remains. After the coated article is inserted into the body, the coating is rapidly dissolved and absorbed by the body.

Renewable superhydrophobic coating
A method of forming a superhydrophobic material (66) includes mixing a hydrophobic material (24) with soluble particles (26) to form a mixture (32). The mixture (32) is cured. A portion of the soluble particles (26) is etched away from the mixture (32) to form the superhydrophobic material (66). A superhydrophobic material forming system (10) includes a mixer (30) that mixes a hydrophobic binder (24) with soluble particles (26) to form the mixture (32). A curing station (16) cures the mixture (32). An applicator (69) applies a solvent (68) to the mixture (32) to etch away a portion of the soluble particles (26) from the mixture (32) to form the superhydrophobic material (66).

Superhydrophobic and transparent polymer structure and method for manufacturing same
The present invention provides a superhydrophobic and transparent polymer structure which is formed of a polymer and comprises a transparent substrate and a micro-sized protrusion part protruding in a lattice-shaped pattern on a surface of the substrate. According to the superhydrophobic and transparent polymer structure and the method for manufacturing the same, the superhydrophobic and transparent polymer structure can be produced by forming a micron-sized lattice-shaped pattern grove in a mold, and then forming a micron-sized protrusion part to protrude in a lattice-shaped pattern on a substrate, which is formed of a transparent polymer, through the pattern groove. Therefore, the superhydrophobic and transparent polymer structure can be applied to large areas and is easy to mass produce.
