The variation of the data collected from a DNA chip is adequately detected and the variation is corrected if possible. In a gene expression data processing method of collecting analyzable data by processing array data acquired according to the expression level of the genes on a DNA chip, the DNA chip is divided into small regions. Data values constituting the array data are standardized (step 300). The average value of the standardized data values or the standard deviation of the median is calculated (step 310). It is checked if there is any variation of the data collected from the DNA chip on the basis of an increase of the standard deviation (step 310).

The invention relates to a method for laser-processing a surface. A laser beam is guided over the surface by means of a laser scanner, and the surface is moved and/or rotated relative to the laser scanner in a plurality of sequential repositioning processes. During each repositioning process, the laser beam is deflected by the laser scanner along a directional path between a starting direction and an end direction over the surface. The surface is moved during each repositioning process at least in a positive acceleration phase, in which a speed of the surface relative to the laser scanner is increased, and a negative acceleration phase, which is carried out after the positive acceleration phase and in which the speed of the surface relative to the laser scanner is reduced to zero. When the speed reaches zero during the negative acceleration phase before the laser beam has reached the end direction, the speed increase during the positive acceleration phase of the subsequent repositioning process begins at the point in time when the laser beam reaches the end direction, and when the speed reaches zero during the negative acceleration phase after the laser beam has reached the end position, the speed increase during the positive acceleration phase of the subsequent repositioning process begins immediately after the speed has reached zero.
