Decorative coatings on glass or glass ceramic articles

The invention relates to the establishment and use of a gray shade palette for decorative coatings based on a sol-gel process for glass and especially glass ceramic articles, by using non-flaky pigments and solid lubricants in particular ratios as decorative pigments. Different shades can be achieved by the variation in the solid lubricant content of the decorative pigments. The particular advantage of the claimed pigmentation lies in the good layer properties of the highly thermally stable decorative layer. The decorative layers produced in accordance with the invention have, more particularly, a good adhesive strength between substrate and decorative layer, good impermeability to fluid and gases in use, and a high scratch resistance. The invention further relates to glass or glass ceramic articles with decorative coatings, produced especially by the process according to the invention, which are particularly suitable for use as a glass ceramic hob owing to the aforementioned good layer properties of the decorative layer.

Method for decorating glass objects

The invention concerns a method for decorating a glass object such as a container or bottle which consists in: a) spraying on the glass object, using dry process electrostatic spraying, an enamel-based product, b) placing said treated object in an oven, for firing at a temperature ranging between 600 C and 650 C, for 15 to 25 minutes, c) using an enamel-based product comprising an enamel particle powder, and mixing by cold process the enamel-based product with one or more pigments, prior to step (a) so as to obtain a uniformly ground and coloured glass object.

Ceramic hot melt paint composition for producing burned-in decorative designs, method for producing same, and method for producing a decorative coating

The invention relates to a ceramic hot melt paint composition, to a method for producing same, and to a method for producing a decorative coating on glass, enamel, or ceramic surfaces with the ceramic hot melt paint composition. The aim of the invention is to provide possibilities for producing decorative designs in which noble metal is contained, on glass, enamel, or ceramic surfaces, wherein the optical appearance of a pure polished metal is permanently retained and a high scratch resistance and a good adhesion of the decorative coating is maintained. At least one diffusion-inhibiting flow component in a proportion of maximally 50 mass% with respect to the contained noble metal is additionally contained together with noble metal flakes/particles and/or flakes that are coated with noble metal in the ceramic hot melt paint composition according to the invention. In the event that the diffusion-inhibiting flow component(s) is/are directly embedded in the noble metal, the diffusion-inhibiting flow component(s) can have a higher proportion than when said diffusion-inhibiting flow component(s) is/are contained in a matrix together with noble metal flakes/particles and/or flakes/particles that are coated with noble metal.
